How do I submit to Room Magazine?
First, please read our writers' and artists' guidelines. Then, send your submission with a return envelope and postage (please send IRCs for submissions from outside Canada) to:

Do you accept email submissions?
No, we only accept submissions sent via regular mail.
Do you accept simultaneous submissions?
No. Room, like many other literary journals, does not accept simultaneous submissions.
How long does it take to hear back from you?
We receive over 600 submissions per year and publish approximately 25 pieces in each quarterly issue. We aim to contact you regarding our decision within 2-3 months, but if it takes longer your work is likely under consideration by an issue editor (good news!).
Will you notify me of your decision via email?
If you prefer to be notified of our decision via email, please note this on your cover letter to your submission--and be sure to include your email address!
If you accept my work, how long will it take before it is published?
Room publishes four issues, or approximately 80 writers, per year. When we agree to publish your work, you will receive a letter from us notifying you that your work will be published in one of our next four issues, or within one year.
